What is our practice as witches? Are our rituals, in essence, prayers
made manifest? When we pray, who or what do we pray to? There are many
questions. Perhaps we will find answers in this path as we explore the
nature of prayer and the basic elements of ritual.

Prayer Path with Miriam and Jackal |

Betty Bean Kennedy was an original Wild Ginger organizer and a Unicamp seasonal camper. It is in large part because of her that Wild Ginger happens at Unicamp (Yay!) After her death 2 years ago, some of her Unicamp friends gathered up the stones that made up the Labyrinth in her back yard and brought them to Unicamp. Last fall some Wild Ginger organizers used them to construct a Labyrinth at Unicamp. In this path, we will be planting a garden to adorn the Labyrinth. We will be planting the garden in sacred space and will magically charge the plants to help them take root and grow.If you go to the garden to pray, love, ache, listen and sing, or if you would like to add gardening to your spiritual practice, this is the path for you! This path demands physical work, so come prepared with proper footwear, gloves, kneepads and any other gear you need. Also, bring gardening tools if you have them: spades, forks, etc.We will be planting native plants, herbs and low maintenance perennials. If you have plants from your garden that you would like to donate, that would be great. Unicamp is located in zone Please dont bring anything that is invasive (no goutweed!) |

Listening path will create space in the cacophony of modern life to hear the voice of the divine within. This can be enhanced by setting - the deep silence and peaceful atmosphere of the caves at Unicamp. Sometimes a catalyst is helpful to jump-start the process. The tool we will be using is the Tarot. Come listen with us. We may not find answers but we will listen for our questions, and hopefully find joy in the process. It is not necessary that you have any experience with or knowledge of Tarot to participate in this path. However, if you intend to take part in Listening Path, we would ask that you bring at least one deck of Tarot cards or alternate divination tool. There will be a limited number of decks for sale in the Programming Centre cabin, and the path leaders may have a few spare sets if need be, but numbers will not be sufficient if everyone requires one. We would also ask that each person wishing to participate in Listening Path draw a card prior to coming to Path on Friday morning.Other items that would be appropriate to bring along are bug repellent, sun screen, water bottles, something to sit on, and a piece of cloth to spread on the ground to protect your cards.Listening Path will begin in the camp but will take place primarily in the Caves, where the terrain is quite uneven, and there will be a little climbing involved. Participants can choose how much they want to explore so people concerned about mobility will at least have the possibility of joining us. |
